1945, the world had just gone through the largest war in history. Delegates from around the globe gathered in San Francisco to answer the key question: how can this be prevented from ever happening again? At that time, the United Nations was founded. It was an attempt to create a new system of security that could guarantee peace and rules of coexistence.
On the anniversary of the conference, we invite you to an interactive discussion at the Museum. We will talk about how the international security system created in 1945 was envisioned and how it functions today. We will also discuss the crises currently affecting it, including in the context of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
