Testimonies of Truth through the Lens of Documentary Filmmakers

Our partners / Events / 15 April 2026

On April 15 at 16:00, the War Museum will host a screening of films by the winners of the Ruslan Hanushchak International Award.

Ruslan Hanushchak was a Ukrainian documentary filmmaker and serviceman who documented the war from within, focusing on memory, loss, and dignity. On January 11, 2025, he was killed in action defending Ukraine. The award named after him honors authors who continue this work—truthfully, attentively, and without simplification—preserving testimonies of war in its human dimension.

During the event, seven short documentary films about the ongoing war will be screened. Guests will also have the opportunity to meet the founders of the award—Iryna Hanushchak-Forostian and Liudmyla Fylypovych—as well as its laureates.

The screening is organized on the initiative of the Ruslan Hanushchak Documentary Foundation. The event is part of a broader effort to support those documenting the war and countering disinformation through facts and testimony.
