Values. Continuity of History

Exhibitions and presentations / Our partners / 23 May 2026

On 23 May at 12:00, as part of the «Values» exhibition at the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War, an open conversation «Values. Continuity of History» will take place.

Historians, art scholars, museum professionals and representatives of the cultural sphere will discuss the continuity of Ukrainian history – from the Cossack era to the present-day war. At the centre of the conversation are the cultural, moral, ethical and museum values of different epochs, their importance to society, and the role of historical memory in shaping Ukrainian identity.

Today, as Ukraine is once again going through historical trials, the theme of generational continuity, culture and memory gains special relevance. Through art, historical artefacts and live dialogue, participants will talk about the values that remain unchanged for Ukrainians through the centuries.

Participants of the conversation:

  • Nataliia Sydorenko – art curator, founder of the Creative Atelier “Bifurcation”

Topic: «Culture as a Tool»

  • Roman Kabachii – historian, Head of Sector at the Museum of War

Topic: «Historical Continuity in Collective Memory and Works of Art – Why It Matters»

  • Lesia Turchak – art scholar, Associate Professor at the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts

Topic: «Malevich, Repin, Kuindzhi: Returning Names to Ukrainian Culture»

  • Iryna Udovichenko – curator of contemporary jewellery art, Senior Researcher at the Treasury of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine

Topic: «Intangible Values in Material Form: Jewellery Art of Ukraine in the Time of War»

Moderator of the conversation:

  • Anton Logov – Leading Artist of the Museum of War

We invite you to listen to the lecturers’ presentations, join the discussion, talk with the event participants and once again discover the «Values» exhibition – a space for conversation about Ukrainian history, culture, memory and generational continuity.
